Just like Yesterday’s News® Brand Original Formula, the Softer Texture variety is made from recycled paper. But Tidy added a fresh scent and softer texture pellets to this blend so it feels more like regular clay.
Going natural was always a great idea. But the result? Not right. Tidy combined cedar, corn and pine to create a naturally absorbent clumping litter with outstanding odor control. And made Mother Nature proud.

Absolutely love this litter! Clumps well, smells amazing and is so light weight! Not sure why some people have said the clumps break apart because I have not had this problem. I scoop twice a day, once in the morning and once when I get home from work.
It has a wonderful Cedar/Pine smell and smells great even when I'm scooping. I have two females, a 2 year old and a 10 month old and both took to it right away; however, I have three litter boxes, two of which are covered and they wouldn't go in those when I switched. I assume because the smell is so strong. If you have a sensitive nose (I do but this Cedar/Pine smell doesn't bother me) it may be a bit much for you. No urine smell whatsoever. Neither of my cats are good at burying their waste but I haven't smelled it as much as I would with the normal clay litter.
It does track some but not as far as it did with the clay litter (which I would find in my bed, Ick! ) and doesn't hurt if you do inadvertently step on it. My older cat is a long hair and the clay litter was always getting stuck to her fur but I haven't seen that with this litter.
I've tried many different litters, including the Tidy Cats lightweight which was horrible, extremely dusty, tracked everywhere and did not control the odors very well. I also tried the Tidy Cats Breathe Easy and hated the smell even before the cats used it. It also tracked everywhere and was somewhat dusty. This litter is a little dusty but nowhere near as dusty as the clay litters.
The cost is comparable to other litters, I bought the 14lb bag which states on the back that it has the same volume as a 35lb bucket and I was able to fill all three one my oversized boxes with one bag. I found it at Petsmart for $14.99 with a $2 off instant coupon so I paid $12.99
Overall both me and the cats love this litter and live that it's a natural alternative. Thank you Tidy Cats!
I used this for over a year and loved it! I ran into a problem though when I needed more, I had thrown the packaging out and couldn't remember which one I had been using!! Duh! So, I ran through all the ones with pine or pine combos and none of them worked! Argh! I ended up at a Pet-whatever chain store and found a "new" one. This one was the one I had been using! Yahoo! We had been suffering with terrible cat litter odor for months...Yuck! I came straight in and cleaned and changed the litter box...again...I did my happy dance! I found it, again! It clumps great, smells great, (like fresh pine trees, NOT pine cleaner btw) and the cat had no issues with the changes. Honestly, I think she was happy to not be in a stinkfest!!
I am in love with this product. I have owned cats all my life and dealt with the struggles of clay cat litter. The mud, dust, smell, and mess of regular cat litter. I thought that was just what you had to deal with to own a cat. Then my friend told me about Pure natural litter. Her cat is allergic to clay litter and told me how amazing this litter is. She was so right. It smells so good. As weird as it sounds I even enjoy the smell of the litter when I'm cleaning the box! I can't even smell my cats mess when I'm face first in it. It clumps just as good as regular litter and doesn't have the mud mess residue on the scooper. I hope to never have to use another litter ever again!
I have been using this for my cat for a long time-I do not have dust or smell-I have gotten several members of my family using it also-we have hit a problem where our local stores stopped carrying it,tho ,luckily they are willing to order it for me and keep it in the back-great product!
I've tried just about every cat litter out there, this one is by far the best for odor control. I have 3 cats and a box with a sealing lid, I was over joyed when I went to scoop it out, no noticeable amount of odor at all. It's not the greatest at clumping, but I can live with that. Still a 5 star rating for me.
I love this litter and my cats love to use it. I have 4 fur babies and finding something they all will use and I like too isn't easy. It is very simple to use and cleaning is a breeze. It also keeps odors from lingering.
I tried this litter several months ago,and was worried that my cat wouldn't care for the cedar smell..well,she loves it..and so do I. I also buy litter liners(and yes,my cat has nails, but we trim them) So,I check the box, every couple of days, and when it's messy,I pull the bag out and start fresh. No fuss,no muss...I will say it is expensive!!! The price needs to go down..
