MULTIPLE CATS
You're ready to live in a multiple cat household, but is your cat?
Cats are social animals, but not all cats are compatible with each other. Consider your cat's personality before becoming a multiple cat home.
An active cat is more likely to accept a new kitten. A quieter cat might prefer a mature adult.
In general, the following combinations of cats seem to work best in multiple cat households: two kittens; a mature, neutered cat and a kitten; or two mature, neutered cats (either two females or a male and a female). When selecting multiple cats, please be aware that the most potentially volatile combination seems to be two uncastrated, mature male cats.
